Chamfer or Fillet: It’s More Than a Coin Toss

Thanks Hailey.

I have some feedback I wanted to give: the intro section implies 'internal corners' per AJack's quote while the rest of the article applies mostly to external corners.

Might be good to try and clarify that point, perhaps tweak the sentence before the table:

"To try and shed some light on this question, <when looking at external edge breaks> the following are some basic factors to consider when making your machining decisions."

Or maybe change the 'title' above the table to

"Comparison Between Chamfer and Fillet <for External> Edges"

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

Good point KENAT.

internal chamfers or fillets are not the same. The internal fillet will normally reduce stress and not be a source of cracking, where this is not guaranteed for a chamfer.
An article on this would interest me a lot, but would probably be very complex.

Benta.
