Changing Default Parts List Template

Hi all,

We are currently using NX6 and we have a parts list template that is currently placed on drawings using Import > Part. We would like to set it up so that when a user clicks Import > Parts List NX uses our template instead of the default 'out of the box' one.

I have read the help files and have set the following environment variables in our ugii_env.dat file -

UGII_IGNORE_INTERNAL_PLIST=1
UGII_DEFAULT_PARTS_LIST=\\txjdbsipw001\Cad\NX6_Defaults\tables\Parts_List_metric.prt

With these environment variables set NX still uses the default parts list template when Import > Parts List is used.

Does anyone have any experience of this and know what we are doing wrong?

Regards,

Rob

... look in the customers defaults
thre ies a specific setting in NX6 for the template.

Excellent. Thanks for your help. I didn't think that the default template would be set in the Customer Defaults, but it is and now everything is working as we want.

which begs the question, what will happen on your next upgrade of NX?

CAD should pay for itself, shouldn't it?

Just copy your Customer Default file to the new version and it will use what it can and ignore what it can't (and tell you what it ignored).

Did you mean "Insert > Parts List" instead of "Import > Parts List"?
