Hi,
I am using NX8.5
I started using assembly files recently. (I am new to NX) Even though I have set up to loading options as "AS SAVED" I am loosing the link as soon as I close NX and reopen later.
NX support team asked me to change the folder permission of UGII folder.
I am using Win 7 64 bit. I did everything but still UGII folder is only a read only file. Missing something.
Would any one be able to help me.
Thanks,
Raindi

I would highly recommend you create a new folder "somewhere else", and not use the NX installation folders. You can then configure your Load Options Accordingly.

NX 6.0.5.3 (NX 8.5 Testing)

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I didn't realise that I can save the folder anywhere else. I thought I only need to save their for nx to work properly. If I save the file some where should I need to set any reference or pathway to connect or is nx is smart enough to remember.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is an environment variable that you can set...

UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS=<path>\load_options.def

This way NX will not only know where to save any changes that you make, when you 'Save as Default' from the Assembly Load Options dialog, but also where to find them when you select the 'Restore Default' option. There are two other options which will allow you to 'Save' and 'Open' other copies of the Load Options file to any place that you wish, just that NX will NOT automatically know about these copies, only the one that the variable is pointing to.

In the load_options.def file be sure to specify the folder that you create to store your files in.

Hi All,
Thank you very much.
I created load options file and saved it in a new folder. (Not under prog. folder)
Everything works fine.

Now the other doubt I have is, should I need to create new load options file and create new environ. for every new assembly that I create?
Thanks in advance.
Raindi.

In most cases a little fix on the icon you start nx, in the properties start in option edit to another folder ex. %temp% .
In the file -> utilties ->customers defaults Gateway geneeral tab directories define a default folder for part file directory. After all don forget to clear the dialogmemory Preferences userinterface tab general, button reset dialog memory.
