Changing Inventor DWG without Inventor

I work at a company where we subcontract the making of the detail drawings. The assembly drawings are made in Inventor 2013 and the detail drawings in AutoCAD 2013, they are not linked. For our products that's a good solution on this moment.

However, in some occations we could like to keep the link with Inventor without sending the Inventor files (iam's and ipt's) to our subcontractor AND without giving the subcontractor permission to acces our Vault.

We are thinking to provide the subcontractor the dwg files with only the views and to reconnect them to the Inventor model when the subcontractor is finished.

Has anyone experience with this and/or do you have tips?

MERJ,

Please clarify the question - there's not nearly enough detail.

Are your detail drawings 3D AutoCAD models, or 2D?
What do you send your subcontractor to enable them to make the drawings?
How do you connect an AutoCAD drawing to an Inventor model?

Please clarify 2D vs 3D entities and add file types (STP, ipt, dwg)

Have you tried sending Pack'n'Go file sets? These would contain models, subs, parts and drawings but with no link to your project or Vault.
