Changing material property half way

Hi,
I'm doing a simulation that is broken into two time steps (think of temperature ramp up and down). I want my material to change some of its properties at the transition (e.g. for T=0 to 1, expansion CTE is 100, and for T=1 to 2, expansion CTE is 200).

How can I do this in ABAQUS/CAE? I've split up the simulation into two time steps and am changing loading (temperature field) in the second step. I can't simply do two independent simulations with different initial conditions since I'd like to keep the state of my elements when the first time step finishes.

Thanks in advance.

You can make the CTE dependent on temperature, if this is what you want. If you are not satisfied with the tabular temperature dependecy definition available in CAE, you can use the UEXPAN subroutine.

You can run the first step in one model and then use the model as initial condition for another model, which includes the second step. This way you would be able to redifine the material properties in second model.

In CAE it can be done by Predefined Field->Other->Initial State.
