Changing the size of all parts in an assembly?

I have an assembly of about twenty different components all laser cut from sheet. I need to get all the parts from a single standard sheet and the parts don't quite fit. The specific size of the parts is not critical so I'd happily simply reduce the whole lot by 5% if I could. The ratio of the parts to each other cannot change so making one part smaller to get it on the sheet won't work.

If it can be done, how would you go about it?

Close the assembly and use the ModelRescaler macro from

http://www.lennyworks.com/solidworks/default.asp?ID=20

on each part.

You could create a dummy sketch in the assembly file. Call it the Master Sketch. Then tie some element of the basic sketch in each part back to that sketch in the assembly using relations and/or equations, making it a "Slave Sketch". The final size and shape of each part sketch will depend on the size of elements in the Master Sketch in the assembly. Then you can control the size of all the parts by changing the master sketch.

Hi, FreddyB:

It does not sound like you have a true assembly because you do not assemble them together. You can create a sheet metal part with multiple bodies and have your design intents in your master sketch as Jboggs mentioned.
