Hi!

Does anyone know if there is any additive that you can put into an organic solvent to decrease its water solubility? I would like to decrease the solubility of ethyl acetate in water (its solubility is 8g/100ml) without adding any third component to the water phase.

Thanks for your help!

p.s. this forum is really great and incredibly interesting.d.s.

Just a thought: could the addition of "hydrophobic" white paraffin oil reduce the solubility of EtAc in water ?
