I am looking for a really cheap (~$0.50) opto-isolator, and ofcourse it needs to be fast (< 1us). I need 6-8 of them. Does anyone know of a latch, maybe similar to a '240, that has power supply and ground isolation? If something like that exists, I think that would be more elegant. I am running one side at 3.3V and the other at 5V, where the grounds need isolation from each other. It does not need to be bidirectional though, and these are CMOS signals.

All of those are around 3-4us, with a max of 18us. I am looking for something in the ns. Thanks anyway.

Getting a coupler that is fast enough is not a problem, if you need zillions, you can even hit your price point. You should look at the high speed analog couplers like the PS8101. It is the closest you will get to both of your goals in the same coupler.

Another part I have used that has ability to switch fast is ICPL2630 from ISOCOM Components. Additional benefit is that it is UL recognized (File number E91231).
