Hi,

I'm modeling check dams with two outlets, an overflow weir and exfiltration. I have a method for calculating flow rates through the dam, but I'm not sure how to set up the exfiltration so that the model recognizes it as only passing through the vertical face of the dam. Is this possible, or should I simply scrap the exfiltration?

Sorry if there is a simple solution for this, I'm fairly new.

Thanks

Well, a colleague did the calculations, but the flow rate has been calculated from Jiang et al 1998 as a function of the acceleration of gravity, diam. of stone, depth, width and porosity of barrier and the resulting head.

Does that help?

If you already have a rating curve, you can use a special outlet to enter the stage-discharge values.

So, no, there is no "simple" solution. :)

But, VTeng: do you have a text book or internet URL that you can share that defines the flow rate that Jiang determined?

Might it be found in some state's Storm water manual possibly?

Thanks,

Craig
