Dear friends,
I have 3 questions to ask
Q-1
I have a requirement for a milk chiller of following details
V1 = milk flow 20000lph
t1 = incoming temp of milk 35 deg C
t2 = outgoing temp of milk 4 deg C
t3 = incoming temp of chilled water 1.5 deg C
V2 = chilled water flow 60000 lph
t4 (calculated) = 11.8 deg C.
Max pr drop allowed both sides 10 mwc
I have received offers from many bidders each offering different numnber of plates, sq mt surface area of plate and different K (overall heat transfer coefficient values).
How do I evaluate my bid. I need a mathematical way of cross checking on the offers.
Q-2 How to convert thermal conductivity from W/mt. deg K to Kcal/hr. mt deg C
Q-3 How to access a good article in the web for designing plate heat exchangers for milk industry and their calculations
