i have a question. i want to use a 5/6 mm checkered plate under 238 kg/m2 dead load + self weight of checkered plate and 200 kg/m2 live load. it is at pinned from 4 edges long span is 1800 mm short span is 1000 mm. yield stress is 2400 kg/cm2. can i use it under this loads? i didnt find any formulas from books.

Check out the book "Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain" by Young and Budynas. It has a chapter dedicated to loading of flat plates with tables to address stresses in the plate for the case you are describing.
 
Or, you could do what everyone else does and assume it spans in the short direction and check it as a simple ended member.
Sometimes the easiest solution is the best solution.
 
Good point Jed...guess it depends on how exact you need to get.
