On our drawing formats we show both revisions of the drawing and the part. So when we check in a one page drawing and a model at the same time everything is ok when setting the rev. BUT when a multi page drawing is checked in only the first sheet will show the rev change of the part. (requires a rebuild)
Our work around is to check in the model then do a rebuild of each sheet and after check in the drawing.

My question is this the best way to go about this?

thanks for reading.

Sorry about the Title it should have read
"Checking in Drawings and modles in PDM/Works"

Caper, Which one of the two following are you putting onto your template?

$PRP:"Revision" DRAWING
$PRPSHEET:"Revision" MODEL
Also do you show all 6 digits for the version? Bradley

The format conatains both
$PRPSHEET:"REVISION"
and
$PRP:"REVISION"
we show 2 digits for version.

Caper,
What we do is change the properties for the Revision on the model and the part to what we are going to be checking the part and model into the PDM/Works. All our sheets are updated with the correct new revision before checking in. This way when the parts and models get into the PDM they are already correct, they do not need to be pulled out and rechecked in. We are hoping that when the next release of PDM/Works comes out that there are hooks that can be used to do this for us automatically. Bradley
