I make decorative panels for residential and commercial applications.
My manufacturer is using ammonium chloride, ammonium hydroxide and copper ammonium to chemicaly etch away unwanted areas of copper that is laminated to glass. The copper and glass are held together with a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer.
I want to use nickel in place of copper.
OUESTION: Will the nickel contaminate the ammonium chloride bath? Will it etch the unwanted areas of nickel away?
We tried ferric acid, but it permanently stained my PBV.
