I would like to know what program to use to build my own P&ID;s without spending a thousand dollar. One that is fairly easy to use since I am not a cad user. I am an operator or technician at an ammonia plant. I have been a techinician at plants for 27 years. They are all similiar, temperature, flow and pressure. I want to be able to draw my own P&ID's of the plant as I trace it.. I am new at this plant and they have extensive test in all areas of the plant. Part of each test is to draw the section of plant you are working on. I believe it will help me learn the plant better and when I get on the board and start running the plant I will have P&id i know well. Programs that have symbol for a chemical plant. control valves, exchanger, vessel, reactors, temperaure, pressure and flow indication and to be able to number all these. Everything in the plant is numbered.
