I work at a chemical plant and I'm trying (with little success so far!) to provide an overview of the quality of our current ventilation system. I have determined that we're getting around 1.5 air changes per hour over all. Now of course we have some exhaust in localized areas in addition to this, tanks are vented, there's exhaust in the welding area and a few other places.
I have been searching the internet for about an hour now trying to find out how this number compares to recommendations and I can't find anything. I've found requirements for a laboratory ranging from 4-25, but that's it.
The majority of our forklifts are electric powered, and we do not have any seriously hazardous chemicals (well, it sucks if you spill them on you, but nothing that requires respiratory protection. Anything remotely dangerous is handled under a fumehood). Any thoughts on where I could get some recommended levels?
