Chilled water supply and return pipe mains are running in the corridors of the new hospital project. The branches from these mains connect to fan coil units inside patient wards. The main supply header in the corridor is on the right side and the return header to its left. This order (of left or right) is not adhered to in the branches in the shop drawings. Sometimes the supply is on the right for a ward and for another ward it is on the left.
As long as the connections to the FCU are made correctly, there does not appear to be any technical/functional problem. Furthermore, pipe identification markers will identify the supply and return pipes, so there will be no confusion for O&M.
Feedback about this will be appreciated as we want to adhere to the way it is shown in the approved drawings and there is not much time for RFIs and changes.
