Chilled water supply and return pipe mains are running in the corridors of our new hospital project. The branches from these mains connect to fan coil units inside patient wards. The main supply header in the corridor is on the right side and the return header to its left. This order (of left or right) is not adhered to in the branches going to the fan coil units. Sometimes the supply is on the right for the FCU of a ward and for the FCU of another ward it is on the left. The work has been executed as per shop drawings but the above described uniformity or left and right conventions is not strictly followed.
As long as the connections to the FCU are made correctly, there does not appear to be any technical/functional problem. Furthermore, pipe identification markers will identify the supply and return pipes, so there will be no confusion for O&M.
Is there any forseeable problem if the lines are run as described?
