Hi,
I am currently writing a scope of chilled water commissioning for a large project. The primary chilled water is being supplied to the tower through remote area due to district cooling network. The tower is provided with secondary chilled water circuit and heat exchangers. There is a heat exchange between the primary and secondary chilled water system through heat exchangers. The chilled water from secondary chilled water circuit is distributed to the AHUs of the towers and also lower floors such as basement, ground and podium levels.
The secondary chilled water system with pumps and heat exchangers already commissioned earlier as base build system. Now, the fit out design of tower is also completed. Based on fit-out design, few AHUs were added and few were removed but difference in chilled water flow rate before and after the fit-out design is negligible. Since few units were added and removed, re-commissioning of chilled water system is recommended.
There will be 2 contractros who will be doing the fit-out construction, testing and commissioning of chilled water system. The entire tower upto level-1 will be done by one contractor and lower levels will be handeled by another contractor.
Since chilled water system is a common system serving to both tower and lower levels, I would recommend only one contractor to do the testing adjusting and balancing. It is also to be noted that tower upto level 1 to be commissioned and operated earlier than lower floors. Can anybody provide any guidance how to do the commissioning of chilled water system in phases as there are 2 contractors for this project. One of the possibility is, Tower contractor can complete the pre-adjusting and balancing of the system by adjsuting the pumps and checking the index circuit to ensure design water flow rate is achieved at index circuit. After completing the construction work of lower floors by another contractor, he will have to also complete the entire testing adjsuting and balancing of the entire tower (including tower and lower levels) and issue commissioning reports as per commissioning procedural standards. Appreciate, if anybody can provide me a better solution tnan this to incorporate in my scope.
