I work for a company that designs biomass boilers and FGT systems and we are looking at a proposal in Australia. They are requesting a stack at 30m high with a minimum gas temperature of 150 degC and gas velocity of 12 m/s to ensure proper dispersal of pollutants. We would like to propose a change to this so that we can have a taller stack with a lower temperature (130 degC) and possibly a higher velocity. The client is not against this as long as we can prove that this would achieve the same dispersion. This calculation isn’t something that we normally do so if anyone can offer any insights it would be greatly appreciated.
