We have some manufacturing done in China. When we provide SW part/assy files, on occasion there is a need to do file modifications "as-built" while at the plant in China using the resources and computers they have on-site. Our dilemma is the "as-built" revised files saved are now containing Chinese characters and/or boxes that replaced English characters in the Feature Manager. We would like to translate these back to English for regulatory compliance as a requirement. Has anyone out there experienced this type of issue?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

<They have a pretty good character translator. Assuming, of ourse, that the charactrers are already digital font.

I have a couple books for identifying Chinese simplified, also. "Analog" identification is tedious. I recommend you get a translator. I can recommend one if you need.

I agree with TheTick. You really need a translator for this.

For regulatory compliance, I don't see how you'll get away with a machine translation.

Thanks for all the replies. We are considering looking into a translator to do all this work for us. Best Regards.
