Hi all,

I have an application for chip containment while milling barstock. We cannot let any chips escape. The process is pretty it simple, we are just feeding in on workpiece end concentric with the centerline. The only tricky aspect is I need to accommodate workpieces from 3/4" to 3.5" diameter, and I want to do this without adjustments or change parts.

Does anyone know of a device that I could use to seal around the bar? I have seen brush seals, but question whether they will last long. I have also seen expanding hole covers, but cannot find a source.

Any other ideas are also appreciated.

try MINK brushes, Germany company can make or you cn select about any style brush you could imagine. Brushes work well as long as they just touch the surface and there isn't a great deal of force on them. When there is they tend to remember that position. Maybe even concider metal wire brushes. Mcmaster-carr has a large selection.
