Hi all,

I am trying to simulate the long term behaviour of the PBT (polybutyelene terephtalate) thermoplastic.
The mesh and initial stress distribution data (after ejection from the mold) were exported from Moldflow commercial program as Abaqus input (*inp) file. By default, I have already got a fist step of the simulation (linear elastic properties of polymer). What I actually need now is to simulate the long-term performance (for example in the interval of hundreds or thousands hours). It means that the real time scale is of the utmost importance for the analysis.
To do this, I have defined the time domain viscoelastic model, where the coefficients of the Prony series were obtained from the long-term creep data (material supplier data).
As I understood, it is not possible to simulate real time performance with static/steady state (long term) or quasi-static (Visco) analysis procedures.
I would like to simulate several analysis steps:
a) annealing process:(heating of the component during several hours) and
b) Followed long time storage at ambient temperature
I guess that I have to employ transient dynamic analysis, taking into account the long-term material properties and using the temperature field as distributed load. Please, correct me if I am wrong.
I am a novice at Abaqus and would appreciate any help and assistance.
Can anybody help me with it?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
