Hi Guys,
what is the difference between a "choke valve" and a "blowout preventer"?
Is a choke like it's name implies literally choking the flow, i.e. flowcontrol?
Does it have other functions besides the above?
How are choke valves engineered? Are they designed based on hand calculations or with FEA? And how are new designes verified?
Is there a certain procedure before such a valve can be used, i.e. may be sold?
Any input more than welcome!
