Hi every one,

We are looking to change our Stabilizer tower reboiler Tube Bundle. We use 250 psig steam in the tubes and hydrocarbon through the shell side. HCBN temperature reaches to 350 to 380 F. We use perchlorothylene (C2CL4)as a catalyst promoter to maintian chloride level of catalyst. Therefore, there is a good amount of HCL circulating through the shell side of the heat exchanger.

my question is that can i use CS? what other material can i choose for this tube bundle?

Thanks

If chlorides is a concern maybe SAF 2507, SAF 22O5 or Sanicro 28 can be useful for your application, contact Sandevik or Haynes they wil give you some advice.

Luis

IT sounds hot for 90/10 Cu/Ni.
A duplex might be a good option. There are a lot of sources for 2205.
A high alloy stainless (904L, 28, AL-6XN) may not have enough CSCC resistance.
Have you ever consided a superferritic? Sounds like a good application.
