Chord tributary weight

In our architecture license study, seismic tests around flat roof building where we multiply the chord length x building tributary depth x 15lbs to get the chord tributary weight.
Yet in wood frame reality there is the eave side (non roof bearing side) of the building. I wonder on this side should the tributary depth = 14" if we have 1 foot eave+16" end rafter ?

In the case of a wood-framed building with an eave side that isn’t load-bearing, the tributary depth can be adjusted to reflect the non-load-bearing section, If you have a 1-foot eave and a 16-inch end rafter, it’s reasonable to consider the tributary depth to be 14 inches ,this is would account for the eave overhang and provide a more accurate calculation for the weight distribution on that side. It’s important to ensure that the tributary depth reflects the actual load-bearing area. So, in this case, the 14-inch depth seems like a sensible approach for the non-roof-bearing side..
