Chromium Carbide Lower Temperature Limits

Does anyone know if Chromium Carbide Coating has a lower temperature limits. I know it works well at and even 450 deg C, but it will per just as well at -50 deg C, assuming other conditions remains the same? Its for a ball valve application i.e. seat insert and ball coating. Treat it as a hypothetical question. Thanks.
