Geometry - see image:
The material is an elastomer, it has metal plates on both sides in the assembly, however I have modeled only the elastomer and have put an encastre boundary condition on the outer face - the orientation is such that the the plane in the picture would be horizontal instead of vertical so it was be a semi-circle that looks like a 'u'.
There needs to be an initiall pre-stress that causes a 3 mm displacement over the circular inner face, how do I do that? I have created a circular datum axis, but directions would be helpful. I am new to abaqus, teaching myself (and now with your help!!). Thanks. (I only have the ability to add displacements in the direction of the axes, and I get errors when I try to select displacement in all 3 directions even w the bottom face w encastre).
