Hello,

In ANSYS design modeller, I am trying to model a circular pad onto the surface of a cylindrical shell, like a nozzle reinforcing pad. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this accurately?

The best I can come up with is to create a square pad and then radius the four corners. It is reasonable however doesn't look pretty.

In Solidworks you would use the folded metal module, however Design modeller doesn't have such capability.

Has anyone else been successful at this?

You could try SpaceClaim instead of Design Modeler. It has a Sheet Metal tab worth of options.

Kind regards,
Jason

Cylinder to cylinder intersection =>shell, nozzle and RF pad. Why not to model outside pad diameter cylindrical surface and cut through shell and then extrude the cylindrical cut outer surface of shell in pad axis direction?
