Civil PE Exam - Structural Depth

I am sitting for the PE Exam next month, and have been studying for a month or so in preparation. I am currently brushing up on steel design, utilizing the AISC 13th Edition, and have gone through the majority of my old textbook. However, it dawned on me that the 13th Edition may not be the current edition for the Exam. Sure enough, after checking my State Board's website, the 14th Edition is the current Exam edition.

So, my question for those of you who have recently taken the structural depth exam, would it be a waste of money to buy the 14th Edition for the Exam, or can I get by using the 13th Edition?

I did a search on this website and found a thread discussing the various changes between the two editions, and my takeaway was there were not many significant changes (I think the biggest change I read was in connection capacities).

Appreciate any insight.

The 14th edition specification is free to download. That would at least get you the requirements, just not the nifty tables and charts from the manual itself.

I got by using the 14th when the 13th was the edition of choice, knowing some of the differences between the two editions (of which bolt shear capacity is the most significant).

JAE's suggestion is also good.

I have the 14th, I like the way it's organized a lot. You should consider getting it. I am also taking the structural PE in Oct.
