CJP splice in steel beam with slope 1

I have a beam that must be spliced about 5ft off of the column to accommodate the slope of the existing roof. The beam slopes up to the CJP splice point on both sides. Can I design this beam as if it was a continuous, simple supported member?

Yep, but I'd be designing it on the actual length, not the column centre to centre length. Likely only marginally different at those slopes, but still longer if you count the slope distance.
 
I think jayrod's recommendation is a good one. I would consider a welded shear tab for the web connection and a CJP at the flanges but if the shop is fine with a CJP weld over the web then i suppose thats good too.

Just a critical thinking note....

You have a simple connection at the columns, your beam must be continuous between in order to have a stable structure therefore you need to design it as a continuous element its not optional.

Would also recommend reviewing the EOR and Fabricator (Shop Drawings) requirements for CJP weld. There is some information needed from you and some more information needed from the fabricator. You want to review the info from the fabricator to verify you are getting the completed weld that you want.
 
Alternative proposal, what about cantilevering the beam on the right side over the column the 5 ft and then the other chunk left of the splice is just a drop in beam? Then you'd be looking at simple shear connections only (assuming you're dealing with stability elsewhere via shearwalls/bracing/moment frames).
