Cladding and Lagging replacement

Hi All

I am looking to move away from traditional lagging and cladding on our boilers. They have a huge maintenance cost and when they get wet the corrosion is extreme. I am looking for an alternative? Insolating coatings might be an option so is there some specific brands that your are using? The ducting material is of mild steel and the operating temperature is a maximum of 240'C.

We looked a little while ago at some "nano technology" for spray coating for some hot tanks to see if it was an alternative to lagging to prevent heat loss from the tank.

We couldn't find any data that bore any semblance of scientific scrutiny or facts that we could use to justify not using well established techniques. The claims made either defied the laws of physics or relied on totally unsubstantiated customer quotes.

At best they appeared to reduce the instantaneous touch temperature issue, but basically we decided it was all snake oil.

Why don't you just spray coat with PU foam? or glue FoamGlas to it. Both will resist water very well, much better than rockwool, but equally quite a lot more expensive
