Clamp-on 230 kV Optical CTs?

Yes, optical CT's & optical PT's for HV applications are available in the market for sometime. However, still do not have the sam degree of acceptance than the conventional instrument transformer.

Thanks for the link. All the NxtPhase stuff I've seen has been the standard column type.

I've got some office guys here who swear they saw a clamp-on application that I guess they think actually hangs from the conductor or something. They think they saw this in T&D mag.

Anyone seen/heard of something like that? My Googling has failed me so far.

My company (formerly Ritz, which has been purchased by Areva) bought a company called Photonics that made such a device.

The product is not currently available, as it didn't prove to be terribly reliable in the field. They were also pretty expensive and really couldn't do too much more than we can do currently with conventional CTs, outside of the rare space/clearance issue.
