Hi everyone
Reading ASME B31.3 and it's relevant paragraph was somehow clear to me about Impact testing Requirements but reading CASTI confused me. so:
1) If a Thickness specified for a PQR place above the relevant Curve in Fig 323.2.2A, but the upper qualified thickness of WPS;which due to asme b31.3 seams to be (T/2 to T +1/4"),Places in Combination of DMT below the relevant curve; is this WPS qualification range allowed or the upper limit shall be modified in a way that at most place on relevant curve ?
2)If for example we have a 9.5 mm Thickness of a material assigned to curve b of Table A-1 and DMT is -29 degrees of centigrade, then If our thickness range be 5-15 mm is it required to take Impact on PQR specimen ? or without Impact testing but thickness range of 5-12.7 mm shall be used ?
Best Regards
