Does someone have some advice on where to look for information designing a glass lighting cover for explosion proof areas? from a structural standpoint only, refractive properties etc can come later.
Assuming a 5" unsupported diameter, all the information I've found thus far points to over 1" thick for tempered borosilicate glass based on the 600psi (150psi with a 4x overpressure test).
I have not seen any products that have that thick of a refractor on them, as far as I can tell these are factory sealed units, does this mean that the globe is designed for impact resistance only as the sparkplug test wouldn't necessairly ignite anything on the other side of the seal?
Thank you in advance for any useful comments.
