Do you mean how to design/manufacture one or how to specify one?

There have been a few discussions on this board on Class X CTs, so you start your search here.

dear scottf
i have read the few discussions about class-x ct.
i have design and manufacture a few types of CTs of class P & M , but not any one of class x.I need to upgrade my practical knowledge in this field
thank you very much for your kind attention.

Ok....if you're experienced designing CTs, then Class X is about the easiest you can find.

For Class X, the user defines the ratio, Vkp>?, Iexc<?, and Rct<?. If you use normal Silicium steel core material, design it such that the knee-point voltage meets the specification (the Iexc will normally fall in as well), and then size the secondary wire to meet the Rct limit.
