I have two Hastelloy vessels with a greenish film on the interior. Our analysis of the swab of this film is Ni, and Cr. oxides. After I do the analysis to assure this Ni and Cr is not coming from my vessel's metal what would be the best way to clean these contaminants. We manufacture Pharmaceutical API's. The Cr and Ni may be from catalysts used in the process

I have has similar film on Hastelloy vessels, ours was put down to a result of attack of the hastelloy since the percentage Ni and Cr were the same as the content of the grade we were using!

We used steam and water to clean it sucessfully.
