Does anyone have experience with trying to clean end-windings of large horiztal motors in-place?
We have not had good luck trying to use spray solvents. (Our partial discharge levels increased afterwards...indicating we probably concentrated a lot of the dirt toward the bottom of the end-winding)
I've heard a little bit about new methods like CO2, ultasonic... but not sure if they are adaptable to field cleaning.
Any thoughts?
