CMP point repair

I am investigating methods to point repair a 60" CMP sanitary interceptor. The crown of the pipe has corroded and is failing in some areas. The sections are limited in length (usually 5-6' long).

Is anyone familiar with methods of reparing the pipe short of direct replacement?

One possibility is cement mortar lining which can be sprayed on mechanically. However, the corrosion is due to H2S gas and there is a loss of structural strength. Even if lined, the pipe will continue to corrode although at a slower rate.

You might also consider PE pipelining if you can find it in this large a size.

Although expensive, replacement may be the best long term solution because this pipe is well on the way to total failure and possible collapse. What would the cost of that be?

You could look at CIPP lining of the pipe. It will smooth out the pipe and give you more capacity. I wouldn't even look at point repar of CMP. It is in failure mode now. what section of the country are you in?
