Hi All,

I posted this in the Pressure Vessel group then realized this might be the better forum. I'm working on a project that involves the use of a 45g CO2 cartridge like you would use for a paintball gun or inflatable life preserver. We are going to sell the system which uses the cylinder as a source of pressurized gas. My question is what EU Directive applies to such a cylinder/cartridge? The three candidates I can find are the Simple Pressure Vessel Directive, TPED, and standard PED. I do not believe the Simple Directive applies as the scope is limited to air and nitrogen under 30 bar max. I saw something about an exemption in the TPED for CO2 "sparklets" which is what I believe these cylinders to be, but nowhere can I find the actual text of the exemption. Lastly, if the PED applies, then this is easy as my cylinder would be classified as SEP and not require marking.

Thanks,

-Mike
