Coating Application on Pitted Surface

Dear Master,

I have a problem regarding coating application on our inner tank surface with SWRO (Sea Water) service.
We have done surface preparation at first. Then, we found any scattered pitting in some location with dept more than 1 mm.

Do you have any advice regarding this particular issue? Is there any coating standard which is state allowable pitting depth for coating application?

Depends on what type of coating you are trying to apply. I'm quite sure the manufacturer of the coating material has instructions concerning surface preparation which cover this sort of thing.
