Coating for underground piping

I just wonder what are the other companies doing for small underground piping sections suchas road crossing. The client, I work for, use a visco-elastic material which is claimed to self heal and protect the surface even on coating damage. No CP is asked with this coating.

In the offshore business, we typically use a 6mm neoprene or HDPE wrap.
