Hi, I am working on a project where I have to mention some codes/standards with exact clause and wordings (as I don't have these books)which forbid direct pipe interaction with metallic support, corrosion is witnessed at some of locations and I have to guide them that this practice is developing corrosion which needs to be addressed according to any code/standard.
Thanks in advance

AFAIK, there is no such wording anywhere.

Some company standards and guides might forbid this practice, but they are not universal.

Personally I've never liked direct pipe on support for those reasons, but this is preference only.
Some people used to do this as it was the cheapest CAPEX cost, ignoring the operational issues / corrosion etc

If you're going to be working on such things then you need to have access to the latest codes as working tools for your job. Otherwise you are like a pipe fitter without any spanners...

Mo...

As I often do, I agree with LittleInch ... this is a matter of common practice and common sense.

Regarding the often claimed "I do not have any of these Codes and Standards ... FEED ME" .... Isn't this a responsibility of your employer ?

Would an employer in your part of the world require a hole dug in the ground without tools ?

Why is it that every engineering employee that is hired, somehow is equipped with all of the international Codes and Standards ever written ?

Good Luck

Codes and standards do not tell you how to make things.
There are no shortcuts and certainly no one-size-fits-all solutions.

What are the materials? and what is the environment?

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

Thank you so much all
As I am new to this field and in learning phase, I really learned from replies that practices are also considered in design. We have access to almost most of the codes/standards which I read as well but there were no information about this particular topic which made me post this here and I am glad getting some pearls from the ocean of your expertise. Thanks again
