Hi, question about coefficient of consolidation as it is detailed in NCEES study guide, concerning normally consolidated clays.
Coefficient of consolidation is calculated as (change in rise/change in run): 1734198844280.png.
Why is it shown like this in the graph, with Cc shown as the run portion of the slope, and I shown as rise? Thanks!!1734199075621.png

The coefficient of consolidation is cv to me not Cc. Cc coefficient of compression.

But anyways, I wouldn't overthink where cc is marked on the graph. Just work out the slope of the line and that's cc.
