We are involved in specifying the changes required to enable a skid mounted plant designed for Australian conditions to be fabricated and installed in Canada in temperatures down to minus50 celsius.
We were thinking of specifying ASTM A148 plate, hot rolled and SHS/RHS steels instead of the Ozzie AS 3678/3679/1163 steels it is currently built with. Have just got a copy of A148 so will check whether it covers all these section types.
I would like to know what is the usual North American practice for specifying the supply of steel that will experience these low temps. Also to what spec would they be fabricated and erected to presuming these both happen in Canada.
