Hey everyone,

I'm Looking for some examples desings (plans, codes, etc) for a House roof with Cold Formed Steel made by simple or composite beams, due to Arquitectural reasons I can't use Beam Trusses.

I'll appreciate your help.

Hi Fbnlvrs

There are normally codes which discuss the design of cold form steel sections and their connections

I have only really worked with the local South African codes with regards to cold form steel but I am sure there are many others that you can refer to.

Interestingly, I own a number of books covering steel design from various countries (based on codes), non of which cover cold form steel in the books. There is only one South African book that I own which covers both hot rolled and cold formed in book.

I suggest you visit the ClarkDietrich website. They have a line of joists, which have holes in them to accommodate ductwork. I believe the line is called "TradeReady." Their website has a lot of helpful details and design tables.
