Hello everyone.

Is there anyone that can give me a recommendation on the best real world connection to attach the end of a cold formed section (that is made of C section) to the side of a I beam as shown here:

I need to ensure that I get pin action at the joint. If I were to just rest the truss on the bottom flange of the beam, does anyone have any recommendations on how to check the flange locally to take the load?

If you just rest the truss on the bottom flange of the beam, the structure will not be tied together. Maybe you could rest the truss on the bottom flange which is reinforced with a gusset plate attached to the web and flange of the beam. The truss could be bolted to the plate with oversize holes to prevent the truss and beam from separating.
