Collision detection in Creo Parametric

Dear all, Another company does some engineering for us, using Creo parametric, the newest version.
In the STEP file we get, there are a few collisions and the engineer told us, that we have to find all of them manually, but I can hardly believe that.
Is it true that an additional software package is necessary to detect collisions within Creo?
How can collisions be etected with or without the additional software?

I thought it was part of the basic license for assemblies, but PTC never makes a clear list of which commands are supported by which licenses. The function is called "Global Interference Check" under "Analysis Tools"

Depending on how parts are modeled the #1 cause is if threaded holes in nuts and other parts are modeled at the minor diameter and screws/bolts have their threads at the major diameter then every assembled thread pair will interfere, which is what threaded fasteners are to do. This can report many interferences. #2 is fillets under screw/bolt heads will interfere with nominally sized holes, so if those fillets are modeled that can also result in large numbers of small volumes of interference.
