Is there a way to color coded feature on your part? Say...all the cut features are red, all the holes are blue, chamfers are yellow, etc. I'm not talking about assigning color to the surface though...

Thanks

No not as far as I'm aware of,

Unlike UG and Solid works and some other CAD softwares you can't automatically have pro-e make all rounds a certain color or all chamfers and other feature or geometry types be made a certain color or line style by the system, other than the daunting process of assigning colors to feature surfaces as you mentioned.

It may be added in future versions if enough requests are made. I have not used WF3 yet so maybe someone else may know more about this topic.

Sorry,
Michael

I don't have Pro/E on this machine, but see if you can work out a way to use the Search tool or create a rule-based layer to select surfaces belonging to a specific type of feature.

It's a long-shot and I don't know if it will work. When I get to a computer running Pro I will give it a try.

Here's a way you can do it using the search tool.

Using the Color and Appearance dialog box, select Surfaces, then start the Search tool.

The parameters in the Search dialog box should be:
Look for: Surface
Look by: Feature
Rule: Type
Criteria: Is Equal to / <your feature type>

If you do this, you can colour all of the surfaces created by a specific feature type all at once.

I don't know if there is a way to apply these colours automatically. But you can always make a mapkey to apply these colours to an existing model.
