I'm looking to design a column base for a glulam column holding around 10kips. I'm not concerned with uplift or the moment capacity of the bases. I see that Simpson makes column bases (CB5-6 for example) for glulams, but does not include the allowable download while the other Simpson column bases do (CBS66 for example has an allowable download of 14,420lb). Does anyone know why Simpson does not include this information and does anyone have any suggestions?

Benjaneer:
In the case of the CB5-6, it has a solid stl. pl. on conc. (embedded in conc.), so the col. load can be whatever end grain bearing or conc. bearing will allow. In the case of the CBS66, it has a 12ga. sht. metal stand-off base which will crush at something north of 14.4k. So, that could be the limiting axial load for that base arrangement.
