If you can design for the loading, it should be workable... cantilever should be laterally restrained. Can you keep the beam depth the same and not taper it?... you will have a lot of stirrups and best to keep the same size. Your inside vertical column steel dowels should extend to the bottom of the cantilever beam and with the tapered cantilever, you may not have enough bond length to develop the outer bars for the column vertical dowels.

For detailing purposes, I believe that this scenario has much in common with corbel design.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

KootK,
woooooooooooow, Thanks so much. I have been monitoring your replies to problems being post here. i really like and appreciate them. Your reply to one retaining wall bars arrangement saved me. i would like to get more of your researches.
thanks once again.

You're quite welcome Danito. And thank you for the kind words. It appears that retaining wall thread is going to be my accidental life's masterwork. Not sure how I feel about that.
